316L is a kind of stainless steel containing molybdenum, the total performance of the steel is better than 310 and 304 stainless steel, at high temperature, when the concentration of sulfuric acid is below 15% or higher than 85%, 316L stainless Steel has a wide range of uses. 316L Stainless steel also has a good resistance to chloride corrosion performance, so usually used in the marine environment.

1. Characteristics

Welding

316L stainless steel has good welding performance. All standard welding methods can be used for welding. Welding can be used according to use, respectively, using 316Cb, 316L or 309Cb stainless steel filler rods or electrodes for welding. In order to obtain the best corrosion resistance, the welding section of 316 stainless steel needs to be welded back fire treatment. If 316L stainless steel is used, no soldering back fire treatment is required.

Corrosion Resistance

Corrosion resistance is superior to 304 stainless steel, and has good corrosion resistance in pulp and paper production process. and 316 stainless steel is also resistant to the erosion of marine and erosive industrial atmospheres.


Heat Resistance

Under 1600 degrees of intermittent use and in the continuous use below 1700 degrees, 316 stainless steel has good oxidation resistance. In the 800-1575-degree range, it is best not to continuously effect 316 stainless steel, but in the temperature range of continuous use of 316 stainless steel, the stainless steel with good heat resistance. 316L stainless steel resistance to carbide precipitation is better than 316 stainless steel, can be used above the temperature range.


Heat

Annealed within a temperature range of 1850-2050 degrees, then quickly annealed and then cooled quickly. 316 stainless steel can not be overheated treatment for hardening.
