Common Defects


Edge Crack Defect

The large-scale inclusion enrichment at the edge is one of the main causes of the induced edge splitting. Because the thin slab has a funnel mould, the flow in the Crystallizer, the uneven degree of heat transfer and the fluctuation of the liquid surface are more complicated than the traditional slab casting, which often causes the slag in the casting process, and a part of the slag residue is formed on the surface of the slab, in which the larger inclusion particles are deposited at the side of the billet, The enrichment of large oxide inclusions in the side.


The Defect of the Oxidized Iron Coil

The surface defects of the strip were caused by the indentation of a tin oxide coil which was not completely removed during subsequent rolling. Two times descaling water is not open and so on, it is the key to produce two times of metal oxide indentation. The results of defect tracking show that the indentation defects can be eliminated in the subsequent pickling and cold rolling process, which will not affect the cold-rolled coil basically.


Surface Defects
